Our Arts & Crafts line consists of signature furniture pieces, possible mass production furniture, fabrics, and art. By importing African, yet functional arts and crafts, Zanzibar Connection have a variety of items for a big target group in many age categories.

The Simba Flooring line consists of nine species with multiple sizes and thicknesses. We have completely adapted our product with the American Market regarding standard profile, length, width and thickness. We are currently stocking 50,000 square feet of exotic African hardwood in our local warehouse.

We are currently in contact with Distributors, Contractors, Architectural Designers, Interior Designers, and Flooring Companies throughout the United States.

Projects completed in the Houston, Texas area: Houston Chronicle, Caddell and Chapman Law Office, Babbo Bruno Restaurant, The Toyota Center, and several local homes.

Background of Zanzibar Connection, Inc.

Zanzibar Connection was established by Ms. Jill M. Landis in August 1998 and is the sole importer of Simba Hardwood Flooring from Tanzania. Zanzibar Connection also imports Furniture and Arts and Crafts from Africa.

Ms. Landis lived in Tanzania for 1 ½ years. During this time she was the buyer of the furniture and the arts and crafts division. Since then, she has traveled back to Africa to meet with the manufacturer of Simba Hardwood Flooring and to re-establish her contacts.

Mr. Mehmood Mawji resides in Tanzania and is Jill's business associate and supplier of the African Furniture, Arts and Crafts, and Simba Hardwood Flooring.

Since the opening of our warehouse located at 4807 FM 646 East, Ste. E, Dickinson, Texas 77539, the response has been extremely positive.

We are currently still in the process of expanding our inventory of the Furniture, Arts and Crafts, and Simba Hardwood Flooring, therefore enabling Zanzibar Connection, Inc. the ability to offer a variety of choices and a reliable supply to our customers.

Due to our expansion, we have established a retail location at 400 West Bay Area Blvd., Suite C, Webster, Texas 77598, which is centrally located in the Clear Lake Area. We believe that a retail shop centrally located in the Clear Lake Area will benefit our customers and to our business, thus making it more convenient for them to visit us. By expanding our inventory and setting up a retail outlet, Zanzibar Connection, Inc. is able to offer to our customers a "ONE STOP AFRICA".

Background of Simba Wood Flooring

Simba Wood Flooring was established in 1995 as a partnership between Holland and Tanzania. The company is headed by Mr. Robert Scheltens and the objective of the company is to manufacture high quality hardwood flooring and obtain an export market for products produced in the third world country of Tanzania while training Tanzanian's in this field.

Simba Wood Flooring is completely self-reliant and handles the whole processing from the logging to the loading of the flooring. With this in mind, the reliability of constant quality and production are insured.

Simba Wood Flooring's Main Kilns, Flooring Factory and Offices are located in Tanzania's Capital and its saw mill in Ifakara. Since April 2002, Simba Wood Flooring has moved to a new factory premises and has quadrupled and upgraded their Kiln facilities.

Our hope is that the products purchased from Simba Wood Flooring will help Tanzania and Tanzanian's to obtain their self-reliance and put Tanzania on the map once and for all.
